Former actress and far-left activist Alyssa Milano has reversed her notoriously outspoken position on sexual assault victims and their testimonies in order to continue supporting former Vice President Joe Biden, according to Fox News.
In an interview on SiriusXM with radio host Andy Cohen, Milano explained how she was justifying her continued support for the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee despite a recently-resurfaced allegation of sexual assault from former Senate staffer Tara Reade, who claims that Biden assaulted her in 1993.
“So I’ve endorsed Joe Biden, and there have been accusations against Joe about sexual assault,” Milano acknowledged in the interview. While still deferring to her belief that “we have to sort of societally change the mindset to believing women,” she added that “that does not mean [doing so] at the expense of not giving men their due process and investigating situations…it’s got to be fair and in both directions.”
Milano, who considered herself a figurehead of the left-wing #MeToo movement, famously believed the numerous (and discredited) sexual assault allegations against President Trump, while also actively supporting Christine Blasey Ford, the California professor who falsely accused Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault during his confirmation hearings, which Milano attended.
But with regards to Biden, Milano ultimately said that “I’ve been very vocal about Biden and my support for him. I’ve known him for a long time…and I just don’t feel comfortable throwing away a decent man that I’ve known for 15 years…without there being a thorough investigation.”
Milano was called out by many on social media for her hypocrisy, with one of the most prominent critics being fellow #MeToo advocate and former co-star on the TV series Charmed, Rose McGowan. McGowan, in response to a Tweet by Milano justifying her stance on Biden, called Milano “a fraud,” saying “you go after Trump and Kavanaugh saying believe victims, you are a lie. You have always been a lie. The corrupt DNC is in on the smear job of Tara Reade, so are you. SHAME.”
